The Old Station House Reviews

Lovely place to stop for a group of people. It was clean and presentable and any issues we had were resolved quickly. The owners were very accommodating and flexible. Could have used some dishwasher tabs or clothes but apart from that perfect
Stayed here for a family birthday. Location was good for local amenities. Shops nearby. House was completely mis matched! Bedding towels wasnt up to standard! Bleached stayed towels! Bobbly bedding. House could do was a complete make over. Only 4 outdoor chairs for a house that sleeps 14! We left something at the house and Im still waiting for it to be returned to me. Messaged several times and no response. Sorry wont be returning

Great place for family fun, pool table, arcade machine and hot tub perfect for our large party.
The station house is ideally situated for the beach and local town, Charles was a great host and manged to get us into the property earlier than expected. Parking was OK first come first served pool table and hot tub are a great addition for a family getaway. Rooms a spacious and comfortable. Would definitely stay again in the future..... thanks.
A lovely holiday home in a quiet residential area with everything you need within walking distance. Our party of 6 adults, 3 toddlers and a dog thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hot Tub, Pool Table and games machine made it a special time. More interestingly we met an ex Policeman who was stationed there 30 years ago who gave us some insight into what it was like previously. I would like to advise that the local Council website is the best place to find out what can be recycled in the blue bins as it may differ from what can be recycled at home.

Our stay at the station house was amazing! It had everything we needed and more
I think that cottage itself is great, with really good facilities and at a good price. Definitely recommend it to anyone look for a family group place to stay.

The cottage was beautiful and ideal for a large family with dogs. The pool table and hot tub was popular with our group. The interior has some quirky features which added to the ambience. The kitchen had a welcome box and some lovely coffees. I would definitely stay again.
This is a fabulous property! The location is great just a few minutes walk to the beach via lots of handy shops, bakeries, pubs etc. It made it so easy for our large group with children as we could nip back & forth to grab things we needed instead of lugging everything around all day. The hot tub & BBQ were great. Well stocked kitchen with lots of nice things included to help ourselves to eg fancy coffee machine It even had the same air fryer that I have at home! The pool table was very popular. This property could be booked along with the property next door for a larger group as there was a locked adjoining door and locked gate separating the gardens. The owners were very kind and let us check out at midday which made packing up in the morning a lot more relaxed. I would definitely return.
Loved the property and all facilities. Great location close to the beach. The older ladies of the family, felt that the sofas could be replaced in time, as the cushions were not comfortable. But over all a lovely enjoyable stay and lovely family home.
Had a great stay with the family, the house was nicely decorated and had everything we needed, the goodies left for our arrival was a nice touch. Was a bit disappointed with the standard of cleanliness, ensuite wasn't very clean, mirrors were streaky, food left in fridge, overall it needed a good clean.

Lovely home from home property with everything you need during your stay! Few minor issues, Hot tub wasnt heating up, but this got sorted out straight away with the owners telling us what to do. Hottub had gone into sleep mode smart Tv wouldnt let us get on anything, needing login details etc for Netflix, ItVX etc, Kids was also a bit disappointed the arcade game wouldnt work, BUT this did not ruin our stay. We all had a fab time! The Pool table kept us entertained for hours. Shopstakeaways and beach right your doorstep, will defo be visiting The old Statuon House again
Lovely house in a sleepy, dog-friendly beach town.
The place is located within walking distance of the beach, and all of the local restaurants. The actual house is nice and large, with a living room with two sofas and two more seats, another room with a pool table, and a kitchen large enough to happily make a meal in. The garden area is large enough to have a small-to-medium-sized dog play a little, and has a wonderful hot tub. The owner responds very quickly to any issues. For example, I left my towel at the house after leaving, and they were very happy to make sure they found it and sent it back to me in good time. We also had a small issue with an electrical appliance whilst there, and they sent someone round within 90 mins to make sure it was all fixed. The area is also very, very dog-friendly (so long as you're willing to keep it on a lead). All in all, this is a fantastic place to have a get-away, whether or not you have a dog.
House was nice enough, it looked like someone had been in before us as it wasn't the cleanest but just a quick run around with the vac and empty the dishwasher and it was sorted. The parking here is dreadful, considering this house sleeps 10 and next door sleeps 12 you're very lucky to get parked outside the property as it's a very narrow residential road with cars parked all down one side. Also there's building work going on at the back and side of the house, they weren't very loud to be honest but they parked all on the street too which made it worse, I'm guessing they would park at the back but someone came in and dug the entrance way up so there was no way to get around back and also the barriers there caused a problem into the road, this has nothing to do with the property I might add obviously it couldn't be helped by anyone just sharing my experience. Back on to the house there's an en suite shower room then a house bathroom, this would benefit from a showerbath in my opinion as if you wanted to get an early shower you'd have to walk through a bedroom to get there, so just a shower above that bath would make things ideal. Nice sized house there was 9 of us and we had plenty of space, the pool room was a nice space to chill out and also the kitchen was well equipped and a good size, hot tub could do to be slightly bigger as we had to keep taking it in turns I'd say it was comfortable for 4 but could do with a 6 but that again is just my experience others may say it's more than adequate. The location is ideal to be fair very close to shops and everything in walking distance, Withernsea itself is just a typical quiet seaside town, there's the amusements which is massive to be fair and bowling is fantastic value for money then a little fairground near the beach, we also played rounders on the beach it's nice and quiet. All in all we had a nice break, a little bit quiet for some of our crowd but I explained this beforehand don't expect a big party town. If you want a nice quiet weekend away I can't really fault it. The property is nice but parking was the biggest problem, just something to consider although the residents in our experience were quite accommodating as they could see us struggling to get parked on some days.

The house itself was very nice, well equipped and comfortable. The pool table and hot tub were great additions. However, there was building work going on behind and adjacent to the property. The adjacent property is being demolished so every week day morning at 8 am we were woken by a pneumatic drill. This also meant that being in the hot tubgarden in the daytime wasnt particularly pleasant. We decided to go home two days early as we had had enough of the noise. Had we known this work was going on, we would not have booked the property. A local person told us this work had been going on for two years, so was obviously known to the owner, but omitted from the description. Another negative was only one shower in the property. There were 5 of us and the property can sleep more, so an additional shower would be good.
