About The Dairy Shed

Get out and about in picturesque North Yorkshire from this beautiful barn near Gilling West. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom, stone retreat is nestled in scenic surroundings, 3.5 miles from Richmond and 4 miles from the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Complete with a private, wood-fired hot tub, an enclosed courtyard garden and an open fire, it makes a superb choice for families or couples all year round. Wander inside to discover accommodation with a wealth of original features, including gorgeous stonework, heavy beams and vaulted ceilings. Make your way through to the lounge to light the open fire on chilly days; then choose a board game, watch a good movie on TV or chat about your day together. The beautiful kitchen/diner is also a wonderful social space. Open the door in here on fine summer days, prepare tasty meals and snacks for your party and pull chairs up to the table to dine in style. One of the bedrooms is also downstairs for ease. This features a splendid king-size, four-poster bed, plus the unusual feature of a wet room in the corner of the bedroom. The remaining bedrooms are up on the first floor. One of these includes an exquisite, king-size bed and the other features a modern-style, double, four-poster bed. A family wet room can also be found at this level. Carry morning coffee out into the courtyard garden in the summer. Fire up the hot tub and the BBQ later in the day and sit outside beneath the stars on a clear night. While away pleasant afternoons in picture-postcard Richmond, where you can wander the charming streets, pause in interesting shops and visit the castle. Stroll 1 mile from Richmond, along the River Swale to the ruins of Easby Abbey, where you can picnic on the banks.

We spent New Year here with six of us, three couplesand honestly, it was a lovely experience. The place had everything we needed, though it could do with a DVD player and some speakers for music. Sky TV would be a great addition, since the channels are quite limited. Also, swapping the wood burner hot tub for a proper hot tub might make things easier, as filling the burner every time was a bit of a faff. Still, we enjoyed our stay!

This cottage is just gorgeous and comes with everything you need! The downstairs space is roomy and perfect for our family of six adults. The hot tub was a brilliant way to unwind after a long day. The setting and location are simply beautiful too!
