The perfect peaceful retreat! Stubbs Grange barn is a beautiful place to stay. Everything about it is stunning. We had everything we needed for the perfect weekend of rest and relaxation. It was lovely to sit in the hot tub with a beautiful view, watching alpacas and horses. The lounge is super comfy and cosy, with plenty of sofa space, the kitchen is well equipped and the beds are really comfortable. We wished we could have stayed for the whole week. Would definitely book again.

Wow! What a lovely property. Owners welcomed us and were very friendly and helpful. Hot tub was amazing, and kept clean each morning by the owner. The place was so clean and fresh, the smells were amazing, all week we commented how nice it smelt. The big kitchen was great to gather in and we took full advantage of the drinks fridge, a novelty! The lounge is huge and cosy for chilling in. We did forget to request the zipped double bed as singles so we asked once there, not ideal for them but they kindly accommodated us. They recommended the wildlife park and it was a great day out for all ages very big ! The York outlets was great as was York itself. Everywhere was about 30 mins away. Easy to get to. Askern good for takeaway, Aldi, fuel, little lake to walk around. We likely wil be back one day. Thank you !!

Brilliant house to stay in, everyone had a great time, and the hot tub was meticulously cleaned for us arriving and for new guests on our depart so don't need to worry about that.

This property needs few words. Seven friends and I have just spent the weekend here and it was nothing but blissful. The house smells amazing and is spotlessly clean. The beds and linen were beautiful. The outside area was just outstanding and so lovely to see the horses, ponies, alpacas, rabbits and birds galore! One even flew into the house which was problematic for a short while!

Absolutely stunning place. The owners could not be more accommodating. We relaxed all weekend, loved having the animals so close by violet the chicken was definitely a favourite! Already trying to get a weekend together to book again.

A lovely property was even better than the pictures. Owners made us feel very welcome. There was plenty of space for the 8 of us. Hot tub was brilliant on the cold frosty nights, and our son loved the ponies and llamas. We will definitely be back. Was everything we wanted and more.

We had the most wonderful stay at Stubbs Grange barn, just like home from home, they really have thought of everything down to the finest detail. A fully equipped kitchen with gadgets and everything you could possibly need, towels provided so thoughtfully for the hot tub and sun loungers, it was just perfect! The owners were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble! I had asked if they could turn the temperature of the hot tub down and in no time, they had done it!! We loved seeing the animals and the outside space was beautiful! We made such wonderful family memories and would definitely return!

A fantastic weekend. Spent most of it outdoors thanks to the brilliant weather. The garden was large enough that we could play football. The hot tub was ready and waiting, a little disappointed that it didnt stay as hot as it was on Friday but perfect for the children. As was the alpacas, ponies and horses in the next field.

Hot tub was not to temperature. Dvd player did not work. Fridge smelt like off milk. Arga was substandard and did not cook food well. Light switch in kitchen broken. Not enough hot water for 8 guests. Only left 3 dish washing tablets, for 3 nights for eight guests then deducted 40 in bond when house was left messy. Did not communicate with client that 40 of bond was being deducted, client had to reach out to check why. Private road upto property has multiple pot hols, causing damage to 1 car. We are eight girls in our 30s, we hire a property every year off Sykes Cottages. We have never had issues with Bonds not being returned before. We feel the property should advertise to family's if they do not like to hire to same sex young clients. Also I feel if money is being deducted it is the responsibility of the property owners to reach out to the client to info them, and explain reasons behind deductions. Not for client to see this on their bank statement.

We have had a great 2 week break at Stubbs Grange. Michelle and Kris were wonderful, so friendly and welcoming. The barn is well maintained and clean with a comfy, homely feel throughout. The garden is beautiful, plenty of space for the children to play and watch the alpacas, horses, chickens etc. We are so happy we found this place and will definitely be back. Great Christmas stay . Advertised a welcome pack but we never received one. Also would be nice if owner could supply extra logs at a charge to save having to go out and buy uneconomical logs at garage or supermarket . Otherwise it was all as advertised and we had a wonderful stay.

Had a lovely family holiday. The property was one of the cleanest weve stayed in and the the location was perfect. Great to see all the animals on the farm. The haribo factory shop in pontefract is a worth a visit.

We had an excellent stay with our family at Stubbs Grange Barn. We were lucky to have fabulous weather for our week and so were able to make full use of the sun beds, BBQ area, hot tub etc and there was definitely something for everyone. A lovely stay in beautiful and peaceful accommodation. Kris and Michelle were on hand next door for any queries but not intrusive in any way. The hot tub was large and well maintained. There was an abundance of crockery, cutlery and glassware and plastic ware for eating and drinking outside. The kitchen is large and well appointed. We made use of the additional sofas dotted around the property. The living room was lovely and large with super comfy sofas. We travelled to lots of local attractions Yorkshire wildlife park, the Forbidden corner, Diggerland and Castle Howard. A perfect staycation.

I feel that what we were charged for 3 nights was far in excess as compared to the facilities available. 1. The power in the shower was abysmal. In fact my kids never used the 2nd bath cos the water was coming in drops so to speak. They said it was diabolical. So all of us used the master bathroom for a shower. I did not check. I used the master bedroom and shower. Not at all happy with shower. 2. Proper toiletries not provided. We had to buy even toilet tissue role as only one was provided. 3. We had to remove all bedding covers, pillow covers, duvet covers etc etc. After paying a pretty penny I believe it shud not be our job to do so.

We had a lovely 4 day break with family and really enjoyed the beautiful private garden, the hot tub and barn. The only negative was how hot the kitchen was because we had to leave the Rayburn on all the time. One small point for Kris and Michelle was made by my dad who is not so steady on his feet. He felt the wooden end of the stair at the landing was a hazard if you weren't watching. We put something in front of it so we had to walk walk round it. Thanks again, a lovely relaxing break

Spent the Easter weekend here for a family celebration and wow, what a lovely relaxing stay! The house and garden had everything we needed and more. Although the barn is right next to the owners house, it felt very private and secluded and all we could see was fields and lots of lovely animals. Kris and Michelle were on hand if we needed anything and good communication was had at the start and end of our stay. Would definitely recommend. We'll be back!
