Loft Cottage Reviews

The cottage is very well situated for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Although it is on a fairly busy road the traffic quietened down at night so we slept well in the comfy beds. The hot tub was great and the kitchen and cottage in general was very well equipped. Even down to an extra heater for the chillier evenings weve been having much appreciated! Although the parking is approx 100m away we packed everything in wheelie cases incl the holiday beer and wine! so it was a doddle moving in and out. The cottage does need some TLC but overall we had a lovely stay, thank you
The cottage was clean fresh and welcoming on our arrival. We immediately felt at home in it, it has such a cosy feel. We have a toddler and a dog, the enclosed garden area was perfect to let them have some outdoor space. The hot tub added an extra bit of luxury to the whole experience, being out in that under a starry sky after a busy day exploring was bliss. We had a minor issue with the dishwasher, the owner was easily contactable and it was sorted. Beds were so comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Lots of lovely places to visit in the area. We absolutely loved this quirky cottage will drfinately stay again.

Loft Cottage was just beautiful I stayed here for 5 nights. ..used the wonderful relaxing hot tub at least twice a day
Amanda
What a cute little cottage in a quintessentially English village! The cottage was everything you'd expect, low ceilings, beams, quirky and bags of character. Well equipped with everything you need for a staycation. Super location, just off the village green, private but convenient for exploring the local area. Hot tub was a bonus and we did not think we would use it, but we used it every day and it was so good a soothing tired muscles from walking, so much so that now a hot tub will be essential!
Daniel
Very comfortable and equipped cottage. Good kitchen and lounge and comfortable beds.
Christine
Was a really unique cottage. Very clean and comfortable Was also quiet to say there was a main busy road to the back. The hot tub was amazing. My husband commented that the shower brilliant. I loved the bath. Was a really lovely hamper of bread, butter bacon and biscuits on arrival. The only negative although we knew prior to going was that there was no private parking for loft cottage. We did get parking in the village near the pub though . It is busy in the village mornings and afternoons school times. So plan your day accordingly. We would definitely book again.but at the cottages that do have parking. We would recommend.
Lovely little cottage in nice location only small drive to town of Bedale . The cottage was clean and tidy and had a closed garden to the rear and garden to the front with a gate to secure the garden . Our cottage had the hot tub in the front garden and has a fence to make this area a little more private . Although no parking at the cottage we parked a short distance for here. Beside the local pub. Bedrooms as all small but very clean and the. Bed are very comfy and the bed itself made you feel like you were staying in luxury hotel . Well worth a stay

Lovely cottage beds super comfy one of the sockets in the 2nd bedroom wasnt working nr the door could have been a bit cleaner hair on bathroom floor dusty in places good facilities great hot tub nice touching leaving bread butter milk etc
Fantastic place to stay, this was the second time we have stayed as a family, great location in a beautiful village with a great local pub The owner bay horse pub Brian is spot on nothing a problem. Hot tub enclosed garden with a new decking area great. Ideas for extras air fryer cheaper to use for people to bring a towel to use for when using hottub, menus walks paperwork needs sorting as out of date, we got rid of duplicates We will be back in the loft again we will also try the first cottage as we were shown inside and it is beautiful
The cottage itself and location was perfect. So relaxing, great for walks and the hot tub was a real bonus. A perfect spot for sightseeing. However there were two real issues. The front door had a loose screw meaning the door kept getting stuck finally fixed my the maintenance man on the penultimate day. The oven, oh that oven. Our evening meal on arrival and first breakfast were burnt to a crisp as none of us knew how to work it. Other meals were ruined too. There were no instructions and this is a must have to ensure the frustration experienced isn't felt by others.

Wow what an amazing stay in Loft Cottage. Code was sent in advance for key collection. Door a bit stiff but managed to get in. Parked outside then moved car to where the garage is. Hot tub was beautiful heated to 40 degrees very spacious for 5 people. Lovely clean cottage welcome pack of milk, butter, biscuits and bread gorgeous touch. Spacious fridge and freezer dish washer, microwave and oven with touch screen hob. Worked it out eventually. Beds were clean and very comfy. The cottage was lovely and warm. Try the pubs in bedale market place great little cottage for a weekend stay.

Had a lovley time at croft cottage the hot tub was really nice the cottage does need a little attention the bedrooms were very nice but you didn't get the wow factor with the living room it could do withe a bit of a up lift but we would come back again
Very comfortable stay. Although you are next to the road there is very little noise problem. And as there is no parking space with this cottage it is not a problem as there is plenty of safe space round the village green etc. although it was a bit of a pain unloading and loading the car. Overall a very good stay in a beautiful village.
Had a lovely stay just a couple of things to mention the oven button was loose the buttons on the extractor come flying out when you press them the door locks are a bit of a nightmare to open not good if they was a fire & the jet covers on the hot tub blow out on two of them when you turn the jets on . Oily mention them so they can get sorted would definitely stay again

Lovely stay, lovely area! Hot tub was amazing Complimentary food left was so nice! One issue we had was the small bed was broken which we didnt realise until the next day and my sister who slept on it luckily shes very petite woke with a bad back and we realised the beds collapsed! We just thought it was a very soft mattress! So that needs replacing! As my sister had to sleep in with my mum the next night! Also could do with not having the noisy boiler in the main bedroom! Which I appreciate isnt an easy fix! Apart from that we had a great stay.
Sofa very comfortable, WiFi good, back garden n furniture good, shower good Cottage comfortable for three crowded with us four, some road noise, hot tub at front of property has fence around but not totally private. Take your own pillows for comfort. Parking is 100 metres from property but could always park. Hot tub maintenance man was great.
We really enjoyed our stay, please see our pros and cons to help other guests Cons Hot tub is on the front of the cottage, in a shared garden. This is fairly private but its not ideal for dog owners due to them not being able to roam free around the shared garden. The seating area in the back garden has no padding or comforts. All bedding towels are white, again not ideal for a dog friendly property. Although we were very grateful for the welcome package we received, this is the first stay we have been on where theres been nothing catered to the dogs. Local pub is very rough, limited beer selection a handful of basic spirits. Not very welcoming to tourists which is a shame as we usually fall in love with the local pub Pros Lovely location, very close to Bedale for some sweet nick nack shopping. Gorgeous bakeries! Loads of amazing local walks to do, we were sad our stay wasnt longer. Welcome pack included eggs, bacon, bread and some crisps very grateful!! Sofa and the bed we stayed in were very comfy. Wifi is very good which is rare usually for Sykes. Although the listing says you can hear the main road, we didnt get any noise within the property which is a bonus!! Parking isnt as far away as it looks Hot tub was clean and always a great temperature Kitchen is a decent size not enough chairs for the amount of guests the property can hold though Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would return should it be more dog friendly next time. Great location for keen hikers like ourselves
It was beautiful clean and comfortable. Would happily go back and it was good value for money.
Lovely little cottage , but really need a better contact system as the number left in the cottage nobody replies to ? We left several messages re toilet blocked ... we had to drive to Bedale to get some toilet unblocker, no garden furniture cushions, no way of getting into the cleaning cupboard and unclear how to use the dishwasher as most of the writing rubbed off . They're probably are only minor issues but did spoil our stay in this lovely place .
Absolutely lovely would definitely recommend this accommodation. Only thing not quite right for us bath was very slippy when in shower unsure would suit older person Would have been easier if shower was separate from the bath.
We had an amazing time. The cottage was beautiful inside and out. Very clean, well equipped and in a lovely location. Would highly recommend a stay here.
Beautiful cosy cottage, although the bedrooms were small they were clean and comfortable , the local pub is a real gem and the food is outstanding.
