Carlton Lodge 1 Reviews

We have stayed here before and we were not disappointed with our second visit. Everything in the lodge is good quality The place is immaculately clean and well maintained. It is a calm relaxing place to spend some quality time and there are plenty of places within easy reach for a day out. Restaurant and Pub are excellent and the Thai food is fabulous. There is also pleanty of other food choices. The staff are excellent.
Andrew
The lodge was high spec, stylish, yet very comfortable and warm and so peaceful. The hot tub was private and a great way to unwind. It was handy having a pub with Thai food just a few minutes walk away.
Jonathan
One word.. Perfect I've stayed in a lot of places in my time and this has to be the best of all . Every attention to detail has been thought of and no expense spared. The pub, only a minutes walk away is a traditional English one with a nice twist. It serves Thai food cooked by a Thai chef but also has English dishes too. This is my new place to get away from it all and relax. Can't wait till next time.

Had a lovely week in the lodge it had everything you could ask for. It was clean and tidy and well kept. The only thing it was missing was an iron but we knew this so we brought one with us. No need to venture out on the first night the onsite pub was fantastic food was to die for. We will be back

Property was brilliant, the owners were great , the hot tub was too hot, so we mentioned it to the owners at the pub and they had sorted it by the time we finished a drink, the only thing I would add to the place would be an iron and ironing board, would highly recommend it and we will be visiting again soon.
Natalie
Wow! What can I say! What a beautiful lodge in the most beautiful location. When we first walked in we were blown away at how rustic and cosy the lodge was and knew we had made the right choice. The hot tub was private and always at the perfect temperature. The location is perfect and right next to a pub which serves amazing Thai food. The local town is only 5 minutes in a taxi and has a few bars and restaurants if you wanted to venture out or if you fancied a walk there is places nearby with the most amazing views. We are already planning our next visit as we had the best weekend.
Amazing stay

A lovely week spent in a beautiful cabin This was my partner & mines 5th stay here Usually we stay in the Wainstone Lodge, however this time we decided to try the Carlton Lodge & it did not disappoint! The cabin was equipped with everything we needed for the week & the level of cleanliness when we arrived was 1010. The locationarea is incredibly quiet & peaceful. We ate at the pub on site on two occasions which we thoroughly enjoyed both times All staff who work in the pub are friendly & attentive. We are already looking forward to returning again sometime soon!
Had a lovely time. I would suggest the hot tub could be turn down a couple of degrees it was too hot for us.
Rebecca
Had the perfect stay. The lodge was beautiful . Highly recommend to others.
Darren
Fantastic well worth a visit most comfiest and relax lodge we have ever been too
The place was perfect for are weekend away! we will be booking back again soon!
As soon as we walked in we felt comfortable. The lodge is lovely and well equipped. We didnt want for anything and had the most relaxing week exploring the coast. The hot tub was wonderful tom relax in after our days out The staff in the pub are great welcoming and freindly and we enjoyed eating from the Thai menu there during our stay. We will be back
4.8 Other than the back door getting stuck and needed a bit of force to open, the lodge was perfect. The pub Blackwel ox served some of the best Thai food I've had in the UK. I would suggest trying the salt and pepper chicken wings, lol. I would highly recommend staying 3 nights! Will definitely be going back again. If there is one thing I could suggest to make the cabins perfect. Is if you they had a canopy over the top of the hot tub.. as the British, whether it is well temperamental, to say the least. Thank you, Blackwell ox.. Be seeing you soon!
Michael
Very good accommodation overall, comfortable bed nice location very quiet. However seating rather low for elderly people. The walk in shower needs a grab rail for safety this applies to people of all ages and abilities as anyone can slip. The owner did provide a non slip bath matt when I discussed this which was appreciated but again this needs to be standard equipment. The front door lock was a nightmare to use very difficult to lock it requiring some force and speed to operate it some one who had arthritis or weakness in their wrists would really struggle.
The lodge was one of the best we've had. Our only small niggle was the tight car park space. We really enjoyed our meals at The Blackwell Ox. Staff were always welcoming and pleasant. We are missing our hot tub already. Would definitely stay there again.
The lodge is perfect the pictures don't do it justice. Very private, peaceful location and lovely extra touches. Easy to check in and out
