About The Gardeners Cottage Richmond

This quaint rural cottage is in stunning surroundings just 8 miles from Richmond, the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The property is ideal for an active family or group of friends and features a rustic lounge, a country kitchen/diner, and a walled garden with a wood-fired hot tub on the patio. It is the perfect launch pad for days spent exploring the Dales and the market towns along its border. The two-storey cottage enjoys a secluded location close to the banks of Clow Beck in an area dominated by undulating fields, crisscrossed by hedge-line roads. The cottage’s interior has a traditional and timeless feel, with bold colours and stylish soft furnishings scattered about its large, naturally lit rooms. Upon entering the cottage, visitors pass through a boot room leading to a hallway, off which is located a lounge decorated in soothing tones and home to comfortable sofas and a wood burner. Also off the hallway, the country kitchen/diner offers comfortable seating around a farmhouse table and a wood burner, as well as ample work surface and storage space. A handy utility room - ideal for busy holidaymakers - stands nearby. There are two inviting bedrooms upstairs, both of which overlook the grounds. Of the two super-king-size bedrooms, one has a day bed while the other can be made up as a twin bedroom upon request. Both bedrooms are served by a marvellous family bathroom replete with period features and furnishings. The cottage is surrounded by small villages home to farm shops and pubs, with numerous footpaths cutting through the rolling countryside. The Yorkshire Dales National Park (2.5 miles) is a haven for cyclists, foodies and walkers, while Richmond (8 miles) is a market town on the River Swale with umpteen cultural, historic and natural attractions.

We had such a lovely stay at this cosy cottage! The location is perfect, tucked away in its own grounds, making it ideal for outdoor lovers. Sunny days meant lounging on the sunbeds and enjoying meals on the patio with views of the horses, which was a real highlight. We also loved spotting the ducks and picking fresh apples and damsons - perfect for a crumble! Visiting Richmond Falls and Layburn Market was greatand the evenings relaxing in the hot tub were truly magical. Would definitely come back!

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It's such a charming and cosy place, perfect for relaxing. The garden was secure, so our dog had a blast exploring and we loved all the nearby walks right from the gate. Seeing the horses in the field next door was a lovely touch. Jo was super friendly and helpfuland the treats in the fridge and fresh bread made us feel really welcome. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is perfect, nestled on a spacious private estate with stunning views. Inside, it feels freshly decorated, with tasteful decor throughout. The kitchen and utility are well-equipped, making everything easy. The beds are large and super comfyand the bathroom is lovely. We loved walking around the estate in the eveningand our dogs had a blast paddling in the stream. Jo's tips on where to go were really helpful too. Definitely recommend!
