Fabulous little cottage great location for visiting nearby Barnard castle Bowes museum High force waterfall It had everything you need could probably do with some instructions for the log burner and darker curtains but we will definitely be returning The hottub is an added bonus after walking all day lol x

Lovely Cottage, curtains were a bit too bright on a morning and the kitchen was completely different compared to the rest of the home. Close to being a five star.
Christopher
Lovely little place, set in a beautiful and picturesque setting. The hot tub was amazing, and was very well maintained thanks to the owners. Very close to Barnard Castle and close to Middleton in Teesdale. Owners were lovely and very helpful
Wonderful stay in stable cottage thanks Trish everything needed was provided. trips out included, Raby Castle, High and low Force, Bowes Museum, and the amazing Beamish Museum. The cottage is situated in such a friendly village. And of course the hot tub was very welcome after a busy day.

Gr8 stay in a super location. Had all we needed.

We throughly enjoyed our cosy Autumn break in this charming, comfortable cottage. The location is idyllic with open countryside all around and total peace and quiet. The beautiful historic town of Barnard Castle is a short drive away or you can walk along the pretty country lanes straight into the centre in around 4045 minutes. It was a pleasure to meet the owner of the cottage, Trish, who couldnt have been more friendly and welcoming, as were all the other locals we met during our visit. The hot tub was great after a day exploring as was the log burner which added to the authentic ambience of the cottage. We honestly couldnt fault one single thing and best of all our little Cocker Spaniel had the time of her life! We will look forward to returning sometime soon and thanks again to Trish and her family for their hospitality and genuine care!
Absolutely Beautiful Cottage, Cosy, Clean, very well equipped. Fantastic covered all weather hot tub! Stunning rural location yet close to Barnard Castle. Lovely little village pub over the road ran by the village! We even had Snow, which was magical Lovely owners , and Prosecco!! All in all a Fantastic place, we will definitely book again. Thank you

Lovely well equipped cottage in a beautiful little village. The owners were friendly with nothing seeming too much bother. The hot tub was a huge hit with our grandson who came to spend the night with us and the garden was fully enclosed which was great for our dog. We would definitely return.

Outstanding from start to end. Very quiet Village.

From the moment we walked in this cottage had the wow factor. Reminded me so much of visiting my Great Aunt's with the wooden beams, stone fireplace & the cosy couches. Rustic with modern kitchenbathroom. Kids loved their first hot tub experience! Owners were great with communication before, during & after our visit. Couldn't fault it lovely village and we were made to feel right at home by everyone. Highly recommend and hope we can visit again next year!

Had a wonderful Xmas spent at Stable Cottage . Cosy, comfortable and clean and has everything you need . Hosts Mark & Trish were kind enough to put up a Xmas tree and few decorations to make the place Christmassy. Village is small and everyone friendly, and the Pinfold Club is literally 10 steps away from the Cottage front door.. perfect . Weather all week was diabolical , wind and rain but didn't stop us venturing out , make sure you pack wellies , and waterproofs . Highly recommend a drive out to High force waterfall for a mornings walk . Beautiful place ..and Barnard Castle has all you need as far as shops , pubs take aways are concerned . Will certainly return again in the future. Thank you Trish & Mark for your hospitality. Happy New Year

Myself and my sister in law came to stay for a long weekend and had the best time! The hot tub was a brilliant bonus. The cottage was spotless and really comfortable, Trish was so welcoming and helpful. It's a short drive to Barnard Castle and only a 45 minute walk. The pinfold club was lovely, all residents were so welcoming! We'll definitely be back!
Nice cottage and well maintained and exactly as described on the website.
Melissa
Stable cottage is gorgeous and full of character. It was very clean and comfortable with everything you need in the kitchen to prepare food. The locals are very welcoming, and I can imagine the perfect place to live. Trish was in contact throughout my stay as she lives close by. The garden was secure so our dog couldn't get out, the hot tub was spotlessly clean. I had a couple slight niggles, the hot tub wasn't up to the correct temp so couldn't be used the 1st night the owner wavered the early exit from the tub on the last night to compensate If you are in the hot tub and someone uses the shower and they don't pull the blind down you can see everything! The TV kept buffering alot which made it impossible to watch anything. These things would not stop me returning or recommending to friends and family. Thank you for a perfect stay Melissa

Had a fantastic couple of days in a charming cottage. Downstairs felt like a stereotypical cottage, with a lovely roaring fire. Upstairs was modern, and had a well appointed bathroom. The hot tub was a great addition and made the stay for the kids. Lovely people, great cottage.
We only went for the weekend to celebrate my partners 50th birthday, but we wish we had stayed longer. What an absolutley amazing place to stay. Stable Cottage was everything we could of dreamed of and more. Such a beautiful cottage, everything was cleaned spotlessly. The bed was so comfy, i didnt want to get up on a morning The hot tub was amazing and also very clean. We couldnt get the wifi to work on our phones and Trish came around straight away to sort it out. We went into Bernard Castle, what a lovley little town, and walking around the castle was a joy for me and my partner. Thank you for the prosecco and milk, the processco went down a treat Thank you for a lovley stay, we are looking forward to coming back Emma & Scott xx
It was an amazing cottage with everything that you could possibly want. The host are extremely helpful and friendly and the welcome pack and hot tub was a wonderful bonus. Would definitely recommend and we are hoping to return sometime soon.
Alison
We had a lovely relaxing stay in Stable cottage which was comfortable and had everything we needed including a charger for our electric car, rugs and treats for our dog and a secure garden. Peaceful countryside around yet it was easy to reach other places of interest such as Durham. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend it or return!
Annamaria
Really lovely stay in this very quaint , comfortable cottage. Everything we needed to make our holiday lovely, including the hot tub which was a real treat. Owners and villagers all very friendly and helpful. The only down side at all was that there isnt a local shop and a long walk to nearest in Barnard castle though only a few minutes drive so not really a problem, and Barnard Castle lovely. Bathroom window could be more private with frosted glass but not a problem to pull the blind down. All in all a lovely stay and loved seeing the beautiful views across the back and all the little rabbits running around. Pinfold club warm and friendly and service great. Thank you Trish and Mark
Russell
On the plus side it was a nice cottage in a great location. Hot tub was excellent and the community pub across the road was great. On the minus side it needed a good clean and some TLC to bring it up to spec..
Great cottage, great location, and everyone we met was warm, welcoming and helpful.
Fantastic stay at stable cottage. Loved the area and that you can walk from the doorstep. The cottage had all the facilities needed for a break away. The owners very helpful. Hot tub bliss and with a view of fields. Would happily recommend and helpful return back.
The location is ideal. Very peaceful with lovely countryside views, yet within easy distance to visiting plenty of interesting places. Stable Cottage is very cozy and characterful providing all you need . Biscuits were provided on arrival and a bottle of Prosecco chilling in the fridge, which we enjoyed in the lovely hot tub. A very nice welcoming touch. The standards of the the cottage , inside and out are faultless. I just think the 9AM vacating time of the property is a little early, but Im sure there must be a good reason for that, and it did give us longer that day to enjoy the area before returning home. A big thank you to the owners who are extremely welcoming but not intrusive.
Lovely cottage with a glorious log burner for the cold nights in. Very clean and cosy with everything you need for your perfect holiday. The hot tub was lovely especially after the long countryside walks just what you needed. Lots of sights to see around the area and cosy country pubs. Definitely recommend to my family and friends and we will rebook in the future. Thanks to Trish and Mark who were brilliant such a lovely couple
Stable cottage is a small cosy home but has everything you need for a relaxing stay.
A beautiful cosy cottage with lots of character. Very comfortable place to chill by the fireplace and jacuzzi.
Heather
Lovely cottage, cosy and welcoming, obviously we loved the hot tub, the beds were comfortable and the log burner the icing on the cake. We'll be back!

For anyone wanting a quiet getaway surrounded by great walks on your doorstep this is perfect. It's dog friendly but just as great without a dog, clean & fresh. 3bnights felt like a week because it cleared our heads & recharged our batteries just great. The owners Trisha & Mark, & their son Rob were really helpful & friendly.. You won't regret it.
Samantha
This was our second stay at Stable Cottage and we enjoyed it every bit as much as last time. The hosts Trish and Mark are very friendly and helpful as are the locals. Highly recommend

We were delighted with this lovely cottage! It was very clean, comfortable and we had everything we needed. The hot tub was fab at the end of the day after walking in the area and the owners were very accessible if we had any questions we didn't. A lovely area to explore, highly recommended
