Lake Farm Cottage Reviews

Christopher
Our hosts Joe and Charlotte could not have been more welcoming and personify the warmth and hospitality of the Dales people. The cottage was immaculate, comfortable and everything worked just as it was supposed to. Their recommendations for eating, places to visit, etc were also right on the money. A big unadvertised bonus for us was the thrill of watching the local barn owl hunting in the fields around the cottage each evening. It was spectacular.
Lovely cottage in a very quiet location, small but cozy ideal for 2 people, and the hot tub is a definite bonus. Good location for walking in the surrounding countryside.
Lovely cottage with everything we needed in a great setting. Friendly and helpful owners whose dogs and chickens brought smiles to our faces.
We loved our stay at the cottage.
We had a fantastic stay here! The cottage was amazing and very cosy, with lovely peaceful surroundings and a great hot tub. Joe and Charlotte were top notch hosts, left great recommendations for the local area, and were incredibly welcoming! Would absolutely recommend staying here and we would love to come back again.
We enjoyed our stay the owners were very nice people
Book this place and you will not be disappointed.

This little cottage is gorgeous, we loved our stay here. Its so peaceful and a perfect place to recharge. We loved watching the chickens in the garden and theres a lovely friendly dog that sometimes hangs around the cottage. The cottage has good facilities and was clean throughout, my only problem was when we were asked to strip the bed in the morning, I found the bedroom pillows to be covered in stains and there was no pillow protectors on. Im not sure if this was a one off or was forgotten when we stayed. Overall we had a great time here and we hope to visit again in the future.
Absolutely fantastic! Loved every second of it. Joe and Charlotte were lovely and so welcoming. We will definitely be back
We were looking for a reasonably priced cottage with a Hot tub . ...we found it! Lake Farm cottage was so lovely...totally remote..calm and beautiful...just what we needed. The owners were so helpful but left us to enjoy our holiday. Lovely area plenty to explore. We would highly recommend this property. Thank you
Justin
Beautiful cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hosts are friendly and accomodating, going out of their way to tend to and needs within reason. The views, nearby forest walks and sounds of nature made it the best experience, along with the friendly animals. Chickens and dogs The bed is comfortable, kitchen clean and cozy with stylish amenities. Bathroom is modern, everything you need is there apart from food and clothing. They thought of everything when it comes to making you feel at home. Whether you're relaxing in the steamy jacuzzi under the stars at night, sitting out front on the comfy chairs listening to the birds and having a coffee with the morning sun, or having a braai bbq and drinks in the back looking at the nearby farmlands, the cottage is really the home away from home that you want to keep coming back to. Thank you both for the stay and thank you Millie for being our forest guide and keeping us company during our stay.

With the awesome weather we would have loved to leave the door open , but unfortunately the neighbours out of control dog prevented this , we came home the night early.
The cottage is in a great location. Well built and good out lay. Short drives to a lot of interesting places Walks straight from the door also. Peaceful place to enjoy the hot tub and comfortable building to relax in. The full length windows on one side capture the morning sun, also the hot tub area feels private and enjoys the evening sun. A true gem in Yorkshire Will stay again Brian &Jackie
We had a lovely stay here. The cottage was really comfortable and well equipped. A perfect location for exploring this beautiful area.

This is a lovely cottage and we had a wonderful stay but we were put off by a couple of things. Ill start with the cleanliness, it was perfect, the cottage was beautiful and the hot tub was brilliant. So the day we were setting off and got our key codes we got an email informing us that they would have to come in and drain the hot tub on our last night so be out the hot tub at 9. I replied theres nothing on Sykes about this so I suggest you amend it as its not something Ive ever come across and it may put people off, its really not fair. They agreed they would come in the morning of our departure instead of 9pm on the night before and would also amend this on Sykes. They came at 4am, woke us up emptying, cleaning and refilling the hot tub! Ridiculous and selfish. I asked why they would do this and she replied we said we would come in the morning instead of 9pm, but 4am! Really! Thats a joke. I never got an apology. I would like to recommend they get a hot water tap to refil it as thats what we did when we had one. Also the bbq was full of old coals when we arrived, luckily we didnt want one. The bed sheets did not fit to tuck under and the quilt was not big enough, super long but short width wise, you couldnt turn it as it was just a slit, no press studs or zip. I wont mention the other problems but really think people need to know this part. We asked for a late check out which they said would be 50 for 2 hours but then said we could have an 11.30 check out free of charge because of their mistake on Sykes. They have got really good reviews and I would never have done this if I had got an apology for the hot tub. I have used Sykes for years now and never had to write a review like this. I would always point out any small negatives in an email to the owner but this could not be missed. It really spoilt our last night.
We had a great time, and we loved the location. My favourite was looking at the stars in a very dark sky in the hot tub.
Lovely cottage, ideal for s short getaway
Excellent cottage and location. Very well equipped, warm and comfortable.
A delightful cottage in a peaceful location. Cosy and comfortable. The hot tub was a bonus as was in our case there being an electric charger for our car. Joe and Charlotte made us feel very welcome. One or two little extras would be helpful, hook on the door in the bathroom for robes and maybe a teapot and a milk jug for the kitchen, otherwise everything was perfect. A most enjoyable stay. Thank you Charlotte for the welcome pack. We hope to visit again.
This was a lovely little cottage which is nicely furnished and very cosy inside with underfloor heating. The owners are close by and very helpful and attentive. The location is stunning, with lots of walks into the remote countryside, and the nearby lake is stunning. The hot tub was very handy and nice and relaxing perfect after a long walk
An outstanding cottage, perfect for a getaway for a couple or, as I did, on your own. Everything is very well done and in great condition, with beautiful decor and in a very relaxing setting. Highlights are many, but to pick out just some I'd say the bed is huge and comfort, the wet room bathroom great, hot tub is fabulous and the living room and kitchen really well done. Plenty of good quality cutlery and crockery too. The finish and attention to detail all round is superb. And the owners are great friendly, helpful and discrete. It was a pleasure to meet them when I arrived. In the property and when you've booked they provide lots of helpful info to make the stay really enjoyable. The area is a beautiful one, with lots to see and do within very short distance. Fountains Abbey, Masham, Ripon are on the doorstep and it's very easy to find great stuff to see and do. If you want a relaxing getaway in a very cozy and well put together property then don't hesitate to book!
Trevor
Absolutely lovely cottage, spacious and lovely inside. Beautiful scenery outside the cottage very quiet and tranquil, added bonus having the hot tub and a gift pack. Would definitely recommend this property for a holiday.
Peace perfect peace! !
This is our third time at this lovely cottage. In beautiful Nidderdale area of Yorkshire Dales. Cottage and hot tub were great as always and we had a lovely relaxing week & Charlotte & Joe are great hosts. We will be back.
Nichola
Perfect holiday cottage with everything you could need set in a peaceful location. The large double bed was comfortable, the kitchen was well appointed. There is seating at the front of the property and at the back as well as a hot tub. An EV charging point is also provided.
Florence
We had a lovely week here, the cottage is cosy & comfortable. Jo & Charlotte were there for anything we needed. We were looking for somewhere to chill out & this was an ideal place. Lovely views & peaceful. Spacious hot tub to unwind in. Nice places to eat out near by. Would definitely recommend if your looking for a relaxing break.
Beautiful well thought out property, however if your walkers like us drying boots, clothing, waterproof s was very difficult, with only one towel rail that wasn't at our control. There is a dryer but boots and waterproof s could not be dried in it . Some hooks on the back of the doors to put towels and dressing gowns would be useful. Would i return again, yes but probably more prepared n my behalf more walking shoes and clothes that could go in the dryer. Loved the two friendly chickens that visited daily to say hello and grab a snack.
Can't complain about anything even the bullocks and hens provided entertainment. Met Joe more than Charlotte and he was extremely pleasant. The location is ideal for a number of places to visit. We would especially recommend Newby Hall and Fountains Abbey. Thank you
Sharon
A lovely week in a lovely cottage. Joe and Charlotte made us feel very welcome and the treats left were greatly enjoyed. The hot tub was an added bonus and if you want somewhere to stay that is quiet and peaceful, then this should be your first choice!
Lovely cottage set in peaceful surroundings. Good base for Ripon, Pateley Bridge and Brimham Rocks. Hot tub very nice after a days walking.

A lovely weekend away enjoying the scenery and peace of the Yorkshire dales! Also a lovely trip to Harrogate for Bettys afternoon tea was a real treat! A stunning, clean and homely cottage with a lovely hot tub as an added bonus. Would definitely visit again!
A fabulous break in a lovely cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the stylish Lake Farm Cottage, fabulous inside and out. The hot tub was a bonus after a day out walking. The surrounding area is so pretty and peaceful, we felt very relaxed. We were delighted to witness an amazing sunrise one morning from the bedroom window. It's also as a great place to view the stars as it's a 'dark skies' area. Thank you for supplying robes for when using hot tub and the welcome pack of biscuits. Everyone must visit Eavestone Lake, a circular walk from the doorstep, hidden but worth the visit!
Absolutely amazing holiday cottage also Charlotte & Joe were such a pleasure to meet! Lake Farm Cottage is finished to an exceptional standard, loaded with facilities including an amazing hot tub and so warm and cosy! Immediate area is lovely with cows, chicken, family dogs and even peacocks coming to greet us. Looking further afield, Lake Farm is perfectly placed to explore Ripon, Pateley Bridge, Harrogate, Knaresborough, York & many other places we certainly dd! I wouldn't just strongly recommend this property, I sincerely hope to return in the not too distant future!
Cosy and comfortable cottage that was exactly as we hoped for. Great set up and great location. Small property but has everything you could need for a great get away for two people. Quiet and peaceful with beautiful walks on the door step. Lots to see and do short car trips away. Thoughtful Welcome Pack. Owners friendly and approachable. Ample parking safely off the road.
Christine
Hosts were very helpful and friendly. The cottage had everything for a homely feel. Very peaceful location. The hot tub was a bonus.
Lovely little cottage surrounded by natural beauty and close to a lake. It was very good stay and specially in the hot tub. Kitchen needs some love in terms of cleaning and a back door from room to the hot tub would be fantastic so the guest can enjoy relaxing time without having to walk around. Owners are very welcome. There are loads to do nearby. Enough parking for two cars. Cottage is really nice. Would love to go back there again.
We are hoping to come back but would love a couple of reading lamps in the kitchensitting room plus a hook on the back of the bathroom door. The owners have kindly already supplied a cafetire!
Was amazed at the cottage when we arrived It has everything that you could ...
